This spring, Uptown Dallas Inc. has put an emphasis on lighting. Uptown Dallas Inc. (UDI), the neighborhood’s Public Improvement District (PID), recently initiated the repair of more than 80 streetlamps within the district. Additionally, UDI, in partnership with the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department, completed an electrical lighting enhancement project that includes more 100 up and down lights throughout the trees of Griggs Park. The benefits of good lighting are many, including highlighting structures and street signs, public safety, an increase in property value, and it also encourages outdoor living and greater walkability.
