Dallas (July 11 -22, 2023) – In celebration of its 34th birthday, McKinney Avenue Trolley will be hosting an Open House at the Trolley Car Barn on Saturday, July 22nd from 11 AM to 3 PM. Please join us, visit the trolleys, and enjoy delicious treats from San Martin Restaurant and Bakery.
The McKinney Avenue Transit Authority (MATA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates the M-Line Trolley. It was founded in 1983 to return streetcar service to Dallas. From its first trolley run in July 1989, the M-Line has been celebrated by millions of Dallas residents, businesses, and visitors.
“Our mission is to link the past to the present, providing safe, reliable and convenient transportation within Uptown, the Dallas Arts District and Downtown Dallas” says John Landrum, VP of Operations. “Our historic streetcars provide a tangible link between Dallas’ past and present.
The McKinney Avenue Trolley has a fleet of 7 trolleys which travel over a 4.6-mile track, 365 days a year, providing half a million rides annually. And it is free; one of Dallas’ best amenities.
