Block Party

The Annual Uptown Block Party brings the community together for a fun-filled celebration in the heart of Uptown, providing an atmosphere for attendees to dance, enjoy delicious food, play games, explore a market, take memorable photos, and much more.

New Location

We saw great success with moving Block Party to a new location across from The Quad on Routh Street.

Griggs Park

Griggs Park experienced 147,600 visits in 2025.

Of the total visits, 80,200 were unique visitors, this was twice the amount of 2024.

An individual visit to Griggs typically lasted 67 minutes, starting around 6pm.

54% of visitors live in non-family households, identifying as young city solos.

A Clean & Safe 2025

UDI’s private security company, Tactical Protection Services, responded to 1,922 total calls in 2025.

  • 921 were related to the unhoused population (48%)

  • 592 were shoplifting reports (31%)

  • 352 were panhandling calls (18%)

  • 56 were miscellaneous (3%)

Overall Crime in Uptown was down 17% from 2025.
