Ecobat is moving 150 workers from Las Colinas and Stemmons Freeway.

An international battery firm has moved its North Texas offices from Las Colinas to Uptown Dallas.

Ecobat — a battery recycling company — is taking more than 28,000 square feet of office space in PwC Tower in the Park District complex on Woodall Rodgers Freeway.

The company plans to move its operations from Waterway Tower in Irving and Trinity Towers on Stemmons Freeway in Northwest Dallas.

“We are pleased to elevate our workplace to include the many amenities found in Uptown and in PwC Tower,” Ecobat CEO Marcus Randolph said in a prepared statement. “This move will help us attract and retain an excellent workforce that will continue to help us transform energy storage.”

About 150 Ecobat workers will move into in the new building.

PwC Tower at 2121 Pearl St. is a 20-story, 500,000-square-foot office tower developed by Trammell Crow Co. along with the residential tower and retail building at Park District.

Ecobat subleased its offices from PriceWaterhouse Coopers, the lead tenant in the high-rise. Rick Hughes and Joel Zandstra of Cushman & Wakefield negotiated the lease with Ben Davis and Harlan Davis of CBRE Group.

Ecobat is the world’s largest recycler of batteries, recycling 70 million automobile batteries last year.

The Park District lease is just the latest recent move by businesses to buildings in Dallas’ Uptown district.
