The Dallas Uptown buzz is all about Marriott’s new “modern brand” hotel in the final stages of construction at the intersection of Fairmount and Carlisle streets in the heart of the Uptown district.  If location is everything, the Marriott Dallas Uptown truly has it all. Developer Alamo Manhattan together with WDG Architecture conceptualized sleek aesthetics, technological innovation and sustainable design to create a property that is dynamic, crisp, transitional, and elegantly integrated into the historically eclectic neighborhood.

Scheduled to open in late January 2021, Marriott Dallas Uptown captures the vivacious interest of the professional “go getter” and the spontaneous adventurer looking for an authentic, luxurious Uptown Dallas experience, perfectly designed for the next generation traditionalist. A new place to be in the heart of Uptown, the hotel showcases the area’s burgeoning walkability with deep pedestrian walkways adjacent to the hotel’s elevated outdoor venues along the perimeter. The vibrant urban design showcases the soft contemporary edge of the building’s stone and glass façade, tree-lined streetscape, subtle ornamentation, and lighting details. The hotel’s proximity within the heart of Dallas’ premier live-work-play neighborhood, appeals to hometown clientele in addition to both business and leisure travelers.

“Uptown Dallas is a vibrant neighborhood within the city and we are thrilled to join the scene,” said Robbie Tawil, General Manager of Marriott Dallas Uptown. “Our hotel is ready to become a staple in the Uptown community, providing residents and travelers with a place to wine, dine and relax.”

The 14-story, 255 guestroom hotel includes 13,000 square feet of meeting space. A full service ground floor restaurant and a casual all-day café + lobby lounge, fitness center and pool deck with panoramic views provide a contemporary environment for working, relaxing and entertaining.  The interior design concept showcases the Uptown community and several natural landmarks. An art installation behind the reception desk features reclaimed wood as a backdrop to scenes of local landscapes, terrain, outdoor activities and neighborhoods.

While the lobby is designed for entertainment and conversation, the guest rooms and suites are soothing, minimalist, and sleekly arranged for leisure and workability. Throughout the property, traditional details of the neighborhood are blended with new materials and technology to create a fresh modern look. The lobby lighting plan is laid in track configuration as a striking nod to the nearby K-T route of the Union Pacific Railroad which eventually became the iconic Katy Trail.

The hotel is within walking distance of multiple retail/office/entertainment/leisure hubs such as Katy Trail, the Crescent, the Quadrangle, McKinney Avenue, Knox-Henderson, Turtle Creek Corridor, Highland Park Village, Oak Lawn, Arts District, Klyde Warren Park and downtown Dallas.  The property is designed to be its own destination within the remarkable Uptown District, but its prime location will most certainly deem it a starting and ending point to countless activities in the area.
